Football Italian on Saturday announced that Inter Milan have been eliminated from the Champions League group stage, with Juventus and Napoli set to win their respective group matches.
Napoli had already advanced to the last eight by beating Genoa in the previous round, while Juventus were eliminated by Atalanta in the last 16 on aggregate.
The result was expected, with Inter Milan winning both group games on aggregate, but they have failed to replicate that form.
After their draw with Genoa, Juventus were able to secure the victory against Napoli after losing the first leg 2-1 in Turin, but their next game against Napolùs rivals Napoli will be their last.
The Italian giants have been on a losing streak for much of the campaign, while Napoli’s goalkeeping woes have been particularly concerning.
Juventus are currently without injured stars Andrea Barzagli and Andrea Pirlo, while both Pirlos and Barzaglia are unavailable for Saturday’s clash.
The defeat will be a blow to the Bianconeri, as they are in the second qualifying round of the Champions, while Inter have the chance to make history by winning the group once again, after last year’s final.
Inter are currently fifth in Serie A and are currently second in the table.
